Control Your Data with Custom Fields

We're excited to announce a powerful new feature that puts you firmly in control of your business data. Custom Fields are now available in the MyPetParlor App! The new Custom Fields in MyPetParlor App are flexible and can be used in many ways to fit your unique needs. At MyBusiness App, we understand that every pet business has unique needs and requires specific information to operate efficiently and provide exceptional service. That's why we've introduced Custom Fields, empowering you to tailor the data you collect for both your Customers and their Bookings.
With Custom Fields, you have the freedom to define and track the exact information that matters most to your business. No more being limited by standard fields – now you can capture the details that make a real difference.
Imagine being able to record:
Assigned customer manager(s).
Customer preferences for appointment times or days.
How a customer heard about your business.
Any specific notes about the customer's account.
Unique identifiers for use by automated workflows.
Think about the ability to track:
Assigned groomer(s) and driver(s).
Unique identifiers for use by automated workflows.
More Personal Service: You can give customers exactly what they want by having their pet's specific information handy.
Work Faster: You can get all the important details when you book an appointment, making the process quicker.

There are two main types of custom fields:
Booking custom fields - assigned to Bookings and are visible within the Booking page
Customer custom fields - assigned to Customers and are visible within the Customer page
There are different types of Custom Fields you can create. Let's review the differences:
Dropdown (single): a dropdown of predefined choices where you can only select a single choice on a single Customer or Booking.
Date: a text field that only accepts a date.
Date & Time: a field that requires both a date and a time.
Number: a text field that only accepts numeric values (including numbers with decimal places)
Text: a plain text field with no validation or structure.
Textarea: a plain text field with no validation or structure that supports new lines
If you turn on Restrict Editing
only selected users (within certain roles) will be able to edit/delete those custom field values, but the values will still be visible to all users.
Set up new Custom Fields in MyPetParlor App by going to Settings > Custom Fields
where you can navigate between Customers and Bookings custom fields by using tabs at the top. Create, rename, remove, and change types of Custom Fields from this page.
It's easy to start using Custom Fields. In the MyPetParlor App, just go to any Customer or Booking. You'll see an option to add and manage your own fields. You can name the field, choose what type of information it will hold (like text, numbers, or dates), write a description to remind you what it's for, and even set rules about who on your team can change it.
